Apache Hill is located in the foothills of the Dragoon Mountains of Southeast Arizona.  At 5000' elevation we enjoy moderate seasons and almost year-round sunshine.  Our ranch is 60 acres of rugged terrain covered with natural native grasses, many varieties of mesquite and acacia trees and the occasional blood yucca, century plant, barrel cactus, and cholla.  Many diverse birds frequent the ranch and we've found the area to be a mecca for bird watchers!  Deer visit frequently as well.

In 2000, Don and Janet Boursier developed a dream of leaving the crowded suburbs and congested traffic of Southern California for more open space and a relaxed lifestyle.  Their search for the perfect location seemed long and frustrating.  On a lark, while traveling from Texas to California in 2001, they made a detour from I-10 to visit historic Tombstone, AZ and spend a few hours enjoying the history of the area.  They knew they were home almost immediately.  Within 24 hours of arrival they purchased Ghost Riders Ranch and never regretted their impulse.

Janet has been raising, training, showing and breeding miniature Australian Shepherd dogs under the name Firehouse Kennels since 1998.  In this hobby she discovered her passion for genetics, nutrition, animal behavior and veterinary care that all go into producing outstanding examples of the breed. Her dogs have excelled in Conformation as well as dog sports for many years.

Also an avid knitter for several years, Janet became obsessed with fibers and wool. This led to the creation of Apache Hill Wool and Fiber Company in 2005, a subsidiary of Ghost Riders Enterprises, LLC.   Apache Hill specializes in luxury and specialty wools and fibers and the animals that produce them.  Apache Hill strives to produce sheep and goats that are truly an asset to their breeds as well as the finest wools and fibers available.
